45% of people may be affected by food sensitivities.
Are you experiencing unusual, persistent, and seemingly unrelated symptoms? They may be a result of sensitivities and/or allergies. Instead of antihistamines, antacids, and other medications to mask the symptoms, get to the root cause.
What is Food Sensitivity Testing?
Food allergies and food sensitivities can look and feel very similar but the causes and effects of each are very different. The symptoms of a food allergy are a result of histamine and typically occur quickly (within minutes of eating the allergen). These symptoms can be quite severe and include swelling of the lips and throat, breathing difficulties, skin rashes, severe pain, vomiting or diarrhea. On the contrary, the symptoms of food sensitivity may be delayed for hours, days or even months after eating the problem food.
The Food Sensitivity Test kits used at Silver Spruce Naturopathic Clinic measure your level of sensitivity to more than 200 specific foods. Food sensitivity testing is completed through simple blood collection. Advanced technology testing delivers accurate results so you can obtain the answers you need. Once the test is completed, and the results are in, you will have a follow up with your practitioner. On this visit, you will receive a customized report that is easy to read and understand. Your practitioner will help you through questions and strategize a plan for how you can manage your symptoms and your food sensitivities.
Some benefit plans do cover food sensitivity testing when it has been ordered by a licensed health care provider (naturopathic doctor or nurse practitioner). If you would like to ensure the test is covered, please call your benefit service provider, and inquire prior to purchasing and completing your test.
